Q1

What type of RD1 is
suitable for my system?

*For the list of
motherboard offered by our company and user, please refer to:
http://www.ioss.com.tw/web/English/RD1BIOSSavior/list.html
*Motherboard that is
not in the list does not mean RD1 cannot be use. You can judge according
to the type of your BIOS ROM, please refer to:

I have a problem with
my motherboard ASUS 486PVI-SP3. It's due to a problem with the bios
chipset. How can I do with your RD1, to solve this problem? It means, load
a correct Award Bios on a new chipset.
|
|

You need to have
other 1Mbit type BIOS used motherboard to rescue your 486PVI-SP3. First
install RD1 on the other board and write 486PVI-SP3 BIOS data into RD1
then move RD1 from the other main board to 486PVI-SP3 then your bad BIOS
can be repaired as well as having a backup BIOS. Since RD1 mainly designed
and work as insurance. Once accident happened without RD1 it is
little complicated to fix but possible.

Q3
|
Which bios savior is
for ECS K7S5A?
|
|
A3
|
K7S5A use 3.3V type
FlashROM with PLCC figure. Our current RD1 series does not support these
types of ROM. Some customer had tried our RD1-PL on K7S5A, they fail on
updating, due to voltage difference. However, there are several users
could update it with LUCK! Conclusion here is that RD1-PL may be able to
work on your K75SA but we cannot guarantee at all.

RD2 Pro

Q1

I
just purchased an RD2 PC Geiger, and am having trouble getting it to work
properly. When I power up, I
see the bios codes for about 1-2 seconds, then the light for Frequency
starts flashing. It flashes
back and forth between whatever functions I select, and the PORT 80/84h
light. All that shows in the
display is !§80.00!¨. My
motherboard is an MSI K7T266 PRO2. I
downloaded the modbin files, saved my BIOS as a .bin file, and tried to
edit it. When I load the file
with modbin.exe I go to !§chipset setup default!¨ and it says that there
is no setup information. I
look at all other options and cannot fond the option for !§auto detect
DIMM/PCI clk.

I checked K7T266 Pro2 BIOS worth AMIBCP.EXE and knew there is no
PCI clock disabling items shown. This means MSI decide not to be able to
controlled easily about PCI clock suspending feature, you still have a way
to keep get the PCI clock by asking MSI to get registered (KT266A north
bridge) information then modify the BIOS in AMIBCP.EXE!|s "Edit
Register Table" item.
|
|
Q2
|
The
80 feature stops at 26. None of the other functions work. I have
tried it on 2 computers with the same result
|
|
A2
|
This is caused by
PCI clock suspension. This happens on other Debug card (POST card) device
as well. You can fix this problem by the following method.
a) Change on
BIOS setting from BIOS SETUP screen
b) Change BIOS setting by BIOS modification tool such as
CBROM.EXE(for Award BIOS) or AMIBCP.EXE(for AMI BIOS)
c) Ask Motherboard maker to provide you
non-PCI clock suspension
type BIOS.

I installed it on my abit sa6r motherboard which has a 933 PIII
processor,. Will the problem is when I boot up it just goes to 80.26 and I
cant toggle to one display to another.I read the troubleshooting section
all 3 steps. I moved the card to another slot, checked to see in the bios
if there is a dimm/pci section
which there was none. Downloaded the modbin and ran it and still no dimm/pci
clk.

You need to
modify your BIOS data using modbin utility as explained in the manual.
Since MODBIN is belongs to Award(Phenix) so, we could not explain in our
manual. Please find modbin6.exe from some web site. Due to
copyright issue, we can not provide it, sorry.
http://www.biosmods.com/download.php#award
is the one of the download site choice.
Ver. 1.00.37 worked OK to me. Execute the utility and turn DIMM/PCI item
visible.
